HOW IT GOT STARTED
For years, I have gained knowledge regarding VFX and Animation Production methods, tools and workflows.
It's been a hard journey and information regarding the Production department is not that easy to find on the web or in books. One element that doesn't help is that not all VFX and Animation companies used the same methodologies and tools, but there is a common thread and over the last years some standards have been set in stone.
There are allot of great websites out there discussing the technical and artistic side of VFX and Animation, but I felt there was a void regarding the Production part. The idea of this website is to become a knowledgebase for anyone interest in production, starting out or even veterans looking for inspiration.
Mathieu Vierendeel has been a VFX and Animation Producer, Production Manager and Bidding Producer for more than 10 years on various international VFX and Animation features in Belgium and London.
He has been responsible for bidding over 100+ VFX projects, being the first contact with Producers and/or Directors and been awarded VFX Bids and Breakdown for major VFX and animation projects,
ranging from the High End CGI heavy VFX shows to smaller VFX projects.
Before his role as VFX Bidding Producer, he managed multiple projects in a studio with up to 150 artists. From tracking and managing workflow through departments, updating databases, working with Producers and Leads to organizing dailies and
meetings, while taking notes and communicating them afterwards.
